Before the Mentor: Why Clarity Has to Come First

Most advice about finding a mentor starts in the wrong place.

What is getting in the way? The real obstacles. Not the external ones that are easier to talk about, but the internal ones. The habits, the fears, the stories you tell yourself about why you are where you are.

Those three questions, answered honestly, are the foundation of every effective mentoring relationship. A mentor can work with that. A mentor cannot conjure it from nothing.
